Ben Stokes started dancing at age 3, and began his teaching journey as a young teenage budding choreographer working for his primary school teaching the dance group. In 2002, at the age of 15, Ben founded Commotion Performing Arts. Now in its 17th year, Commotion Performing Arts has grown to be one of the largest and most reputable performing arts studios in South-West Sydney with over 700 students currently attending weekly. In addition to his role as Managing Director of Commotion, Ben runs 2 large dance competitions, The Australian Dance Challenge and Kick! Eisteddfod, continues to work as a choreographer and teacher, owns a costume hire company, provides music editing and print services to dance studio owners, and works as a consultant through his business Stoked!Creative Pty Ltd.

Ben was one of the founding directors of Project Dance Australia, choreographed the Lil’ Banditz Crew and Dapper for their TV appearances, has helped to coordinate many large scale events and has worked a freelance writer for several online blogs. As the director of Studio Savvy and lead content creator, Ben is as passionate about business and marketing as he is about dance teaching. Having successfully built up his own school into a million dollar business, Ben is excited to have the opportunity to share his experience and unique perspective on dance studio ownership and management.

Angela is best known in the dance industry as the founder of the Australian Dance Festival, an annual event which brings over 6,000 dance lovers together. The event is a testament to Angela's experience in finance, marketing and systems, as well as her passion for the dance industry. Angela began her working life as a cadet in one of Australia's largest accounting firms.

While completing her Masters in Commerce at the UNSW, Angela fell in love with Latin dancing, and became a dance instructor with Club Salsa. As part of a university assignment, she re-designed Club Salsa's instructor training program. The dance school was so impressed with her work that they hired her as a consultant to help them with their marketing, accounting and systems. She was then invited to be part of the team to organise the Sydney Latin Festival, which led her to founding the Australian Dance Festival in 2009. She has extensive experience as a financial accountant, business coach and marketing consultant. She is a certified business coach with the Better Business Institute and has run the Clever Marketing, and Clever Business Networks series of workshops.

After over 25 years as a graphic designer in an advertising agency looking after an array of corporate clients, Kylie Power combined her love of graphic design and dance with her business My Dance Marketing and Apparel.

When her daughter started dance at her local studio, Kylie was asked to design a new business card and it started from there. By becoming very involved in the running and marketing of this dance school Kylie learned how dance studio owners operate and managed to apply marketing strategies to suit this specific business.

Having an understanding of the hours that Dance Studio Principal’s work, their budget highs and lows, and what they need to do to make their studio successful, Kylie saw a need for dance studios to have access to affordable, quality, personalised design and service for their industry. Kylie has proudly provided graphic design and printing for events such as “Project Pink” a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness and “Don’t Dis Disabilities” a fundraiser for the Special Olympics Dance Team.
